Today at the office, I walked by a coworker's desk and something was different: She'd put an Ikea table and shelf together and set them on top of her desk. Nutty, at first glance. Purposeful, after 0.25 seconds of thought. Here's what I saw:

What you're looking at is the Ikea "Lack" table and the Ikea "Ekby Viktor" shelf held together with zip-ties. Super-simple and super-effective and super-cheap compared to other solutions I've seen.

Ingenius. Of course, I would want motors, LCD height read-outs, bells, whistles and an M&M® dispenser, but I couldn't pull off all that for a lousy $22.
